The RECAP project

15 October 2026

The REionization Complementary Approach Project (RECAP) is a research project funded by the European Union under a prestigious ERC Synergy Grant.

The project focuses on the Epoch of Reionization to understand how the first cosmic sources (stars, high-redshift galaxies, and AGNs) ionized the intergalactic medium and shaped the structural evolution of the Universe. By combining the synergistic expertise of 4 PIs across advanced numerical simulations and multi-wavelength observations using major facilities such as JWST, VLT, and ALMA, the project investigates the complex energy and baryon exchange between ionizing sources and their surrounding environment.

Full details regarding the research activities, scientific results, and data products are available on the dedicated project website.
